Evergreen Learning Grounds program helps schools create outdoor classrooms to provide students with a healthy place to play, learn and develop a genuine respect for nature. Our school was selected by Evergreen Canada for a special grant to develop the inner courtyard of the school. The courtyard will be used as an “outdoor classroom” for staff and students. It will provide them with an area to conduct science experiments, do art, write or simply a nice quiet working space. Students and staff have generated a list of items that they would like to see included in this new learning area. We now need parent volunteers to help with the child-centered design process, fundraising and to help build the new site. We are looking for a group of parents to help bring students' ideas to life! If you are interested in this project, please join us at the next meeting or contact Suzanne Préfontaine (suzanne.prefontaine@epsb.ca) or by calling 780-466-2292 ext 304).
Our next meeting is on Thursday, January 21 at 7:00 p.m.
